REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN A GENERAL CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE IN NEW YORK.

If you have a growing passion for construction and are currently pursuing a General Contractor's license, allow us to provide you with information regarding the requirements for obtaining it:

1) Must be at least 18 years old

2) Be able to read and write the English language

3) General Contractor registration form notarized and completed.

4) LIC50 or LIC51 Form

5) Child Support Certification Form - Child Support

6) Notarized Supplemental Investigation Form

7) Notarized Company Letter must include: (Name, address, phone number, social security, and percentage of ownership of officers or partners)

8) Original proof of EIN (Employer Identification Number)

9) Last three (3) consecutive bank statements for the business (each must show an ending balance of $25,000 or a notarized letter from the bank that holds the business account stating that your business has had a balance of at least $25,000 during the three (3) months. (Online printouts of the bank statements must be stamped by the bank).

10) Original certificate of General Liability, Worker's Compensation and Disability (Insurance must be for a minimum of 1'000.000).

11) Valid ID (Driver's License)

12) Original Social Security Card

13) Original proof of personal address (utility bill, bank statement, deed or lease) NO cell phone bills or credit cards.

14) Original proof of proof of business address (utility bill, bank statement, deed or lease agreement).

15) Certified copy of New York State Certificate of Incorporation.

16) Copy of corporate filing receipt or Filing receipt.

17) Copy of the minutes of the business (must indicate the names of the officers, time, date and place of the meeting.
